Our Year 8 football team travelled to Wilmslow yes

Our Year 8 football team travelled to Wilmslow yesterday for the Macclesfield Cup Semi-Final. The students were excellent and put in a really strong and committed performance. Deservedly came away 4-2 winners. Goals from Elliot, Lucas and Ethan (2). The final will take place at Macclesfield Town F.C.'s stadium after half-term.

Our students have been invited to take part in the Rotary-Congleton Young Artist Competition and the theme this year is ‘The Year 2050’. The competition runs from now until 21st June, with certificates and prizes handed out in July. Students can attend a meeting in school for more details and information. Some of the work has to be done supervised at school so there will be some after school sessions arranged to complete the entry to standard. Please ask Mrs Nixon for more information. The competition is sponsored by Aerospace Bird Bellows.

At Eaton Bank, we offer a variety of extra-curricular clubs which take place at lunchtime and after school.

This term, we have had Warhammer Club start after school. This table-top strategy game incorporates maths and problem solving, is a good way to get creative by painting miniature models, and is a great way to spend an hour with your friends after school! We are also deepening our journey into Warhammer with booklets you can collect at the club and take home to read, encouraging all students to read for pleasure. The Club runs every Wednesday after school from 3.15pm – 4.15pm in Room 55.

Ex-EBA student PC Orla Lea came to deliver an eye-opening talk to our Sixth Formers last week about the dangers of drugs and vaping. Trainee PC Lea also spoke passionately about her experiences training as a police officer, delivering an inspirational insight into such a vital job in our local community. It was great to see Orla again and we wish her all the best in her future career!

Staff are celebrating World Book Day by coming to

Staff are celebrating World Book Day by coming to school dressed as a literacy character, can you guess who the characters are from the photo below?

Throughout the day, we have lots of activities that students can take part in. A quiz where students find out which staff are which characters, these can be collected at Main Reception, in Reprographics and in the English office. There are also 5 World Book Day books hidden around the school. Whichever student finds a book, they get to keep it! Students have also been given £1 Book Tokens which can either be exchanged for a £1 book, or they can get a £1 off any book.

A fantastic trip to the UCAS Discovery Event in Manchester today! Year 12 students had the chance to visit exhibitors from university, apprenticeship and Higher Education providers from across the country. Students came away inspired, informed and excited to begin their next steps journey. The students were brilliantly behaved and really threw themselves into the experience. Well done Year 12!
